Helping the Environment

Here at Interlude we are very aware of the impact businesses can have on the environment and global warming. We are committed to minimising our effect on the increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

We recycle waste paper, glass, plastics and cans wherever possible. We also offer our coffee grounds and tea to gardeners to help improve their soil.

Just ask one of our staff if you'd like to recycle some Interlude coffee grounds!

• Sprinkle used grounds around plants before rain or watering, for a slow-release nitrogen.
• Add to compost heaps to increase nitrogen balance. (Tea bags break down rapidly during composting.)
• Dilute with water for a gentle, fast-acting liquid fertilizer. Use about 50g of wet grounds in a five litre bucket of water; let it stand outdoors to achieve ambient temperature; mix into soil for houseplants or new vegetable beds.
